SCORR has had some very productive trail days in the last few weeks. Most of the singletrack trails have been cleared and trimmed. The routes are drying up quite well. We also have a brand new layer of gravel on the South Powerline section. It's fast!
The 60 mile route will be a little less challenging with the addition of the smoother sections but don't be fooled, it will test your fitness. Any rider that finished it can tell you that you will struggle at times. The distance, the varying terrain (gravel, very little asphalt, dirt, grass and some sand), the pig damage and sometimes the wind and cold will all slow you down. It will make you question your choice of hobbies.
But thankfully after the first 40 mile section (maybe the first 20) you have a choice to make: continue or just go back to the start area and have a hot bratwurst and a beer.
